CASE STUDIES
Capability designed for demanding environments
Selected programmes demonstrating MARSS’ approach to programme delivery, systems integration, technology adoption and operational capability.
UK DEFENCE - SPECIAL OPERATIONS - C2
Project Quicksilver
Specialist programme management, engineering, and technology designed for deployable operational capability.
MARSS, as a key partner to CDW, providing professional-services support and specialist equipment for Project Quicksilver, supporting the small teams of the Land Special Operations Brigade. The work spans solutions architecture, high-and low-level design, requirements engineering, interoperability, Secure by Design, deployable Staff Working Environments, integration, horizon scanning, capability assessment, project management, security and safety.
PROGRAMME MANAGEMENT
End-to-end programme leadership, governance, risk management and stakeholder coordination for complex capability delivery.
SYSTEMS ENGINEERING
Solutions / communications architecture, requirements engineering and design.
SPECIALIST EQUIPMENT PROVISION
Technology and equipment supporting overall capability.
ONGOING CAPABILITY SUPPORT
Horizon scanning, capability assessment and requirements mangement
UK - UAS PROGRAMME
Securing critical components for an operational drone programme.
MARSS supported a UK-based drone programme supplying by establishing a robust supply chain for specialist and hard-to-source UAS components in high volumes.
Against a challenging and constrained supply environment, MARSS identified, source and supplied critical components which providing assurance over provenance, authenticity and continuity of supply.
THE CHALLENGE
Rapidly scaling drone production required access to specialist components that were increasing difficult to source in high quantities though conventional supply chains.
Availability constraints, regulatory changes, variable lead times and the risk of counterfeit or non-conforming components created significant risk.
THE MARSS ROLE
SUPPLY CHAIN DEVELOPMENT - Identifying and establishing reliable international supply routes.
SOURCING & PROCUREMENT - Locating hard to source components against programme requirements and production demand.
COMPONENT ASSURANCE - Supporting the provision of genuine, traceable components and reducing exposure to counterfeit or unsuitable alternatives.
SUPPLY CONTINUITY - Developing a more resilient supplier base to support ongoing production requirements.
ALTERNATE PRODUCT IDENTIFIACTION - Where the lead time was too long, or a product was or about to become obsolete, we identified, proposed and supplied suitable alternatives.
THE OUTCOME
MARSS established a dependable supply route for critical UAS components, helping the programme maintain access to genuine specialist hardware while strengthening resilience against component shortages and counterfeit supply.
UK DEFENCE - EXPERIMENTATION - DEPLOYABLE C2
Project Lelantos
Next-generation deployable headquarters capability for UK Defence
MARSS supported the development and experimentation of an agile, survivable Staff Working Environment, bringing together specialist technologies across communications, infrastructure, power and command systems into an integrated operational capability.
